AHHHH it's almost time for your session!!

Here's some DO'S & DON'TS to follow to get you ready beforehand!


LET'S START WITH THE "DO'S"

EAT.  

DO NOT STARVE YOURSELF BEFORE YOUR SESSION. "Looking perfect" and "being skinny" is NOT what Boudies by KatieMayClicks is about. I am allllll about body positivity and loving the skin you are in. If you are not ready to see yourself this way- we can reschedule to a time when you are! You gotta CHOOSE to love yourself, see yourself how I see you. Perfect: because you're you. Sessions usually take about 5/6 hours from start to finish & by the end you will be STARVING. Make sure to bring a snack to eat while we do your reveal!


HYDRATE. 

Boudoir is a WORKOUT, definitely give water some love before & during your session. This will also help your skin look its absolute best!


PAMPER. 

Get your nails done! Get those babies in shape & cleaned up! We take lots of photos with hands involved- so make sure they're photo ready with a fresh manicure! A lot of babes reach out regarding waxing and shaving before their session & when it should be done. If you're not someone who usually gets waxed, I DO NOT RECOMMEND starting now. If you are someone who regularly gets waxing already- and know you aren't prone to any reactions to the waxing- I suggest making your appointment three days before your session for best results. As far as shaving goes- as long as you moisturize after the shave, you can do it the day or night before. If you are prone to razor bumps, don't stress. I can smooth them out while editing. I remove all bruises, cuts and pimples while editing! If you are someone who prefers body hair- go for it! Only shave/wax what YOU feel you WANT to!


STRETCH. 

People think I'm joking with this one but I'm 110% not. PLEASE STRETCH. Did I mention boudoir is a workout?! You're gonna be SORE the day after your session. I'm so sorry, but it's SO worth it. Stretching will help a TON before your session. The more, the better. It will help with your posing & arching you'll be doing the day of!


SLEEP. 

I mean, this one should be obvious but we're all guilty of not sleeping enough - shamelessly get after those zzzz's the night before your session.


COORDINATE. 

If you're planning to use your own outfits and not the Client Closet- Pick out some outfits that make you feel confident. I love having options so pack your whole wardrobe if you want to. Make sure you're comfortable and be your authentic self! I do have a Client Closet with over 400 outfits ranging from XS-4X! So you can totally skip the shopping and let me dress you instead! I love to get you out of your comfort zone with some fun, funky pieces we have as well as all the classics that will have you FEELIN' yourself.

NEXT UP IS THE "DON'TS"

SPRAY/SELF TAN.

I know you wanna be tan...but it's better to be pale then to be tan...and streaky. Spray tans & self-tanners have a way of giving you creases where you have none. Let's stay away from that. I also edit warm. I can always add color- I can't take it away. So if you come in looking orange already and then get edited with my warm colors...you're gonna be WILD looking! If I try to remove the orange from your fake tan- you'll end up looking washed out or grey. BUT if you stay with your normal skin tone- I can warm you up in my editing process! TRUST. THE. PROCESS (Please, I'm begging). I DO NOT remove tan lines or self tanning streaks in my editing process. They will be blended so they are not as harsh or dramatic- but they are not removed. Please keep this in mind before your session so you can even out your skin (WAY in advance!!) appropriately!


HESITATE. 

Ask us questions, tell us your concerns, pack your whole wardrobe (I love having outfit options!), don't hesitate to be YOU.

SHAVE. Don't wax or shave immediately before the session. At the risk of irritation or razor burn that draws attention to your bikini area or underarms. Shave two days before your session and wax at least 4 days beforeDon't worry about minor razor bumps or the tiniest bit of stubble- I PROMISE you won't see it in the photos.


MARK.

 Be careful with the clothing you wear on the way to your session. Skinny jeans and tight bras can leave marks on your skin that can show up in photos. Wear loose fitting, cozy clothing on your way over that way we avoid those "Wow that nap must have been good" indent marks all over.


CHANGE. 

Do not, I repeat, do NOT, make drastic changes to your appearance right before your session. A personal story as an example: I got a haircut for my graduation party in high school- the hairdresser cut WAY TOO MUCH off and I HATED the cut. But there's nothing I could do about it because it was the DAY BEFORE my party- I had to be the center of attention while feeling SUPER insecure about the haircut I hated. DON'T BE 17 YEAR OLD ME. Save the drastic changes for AFTER the session OR make sure they're done weeks in advance so you have time to adjust to them.


BE NERVOUS. 

It's easier said than done but I PROMISE you're going to have an amazing time and you're going to feel FANTASTIC and POWERFUL. I recommend checking out the "REVIEWS" highlight on Instagram (@boudiesbykatiemayclicks) to help calm your nerves. It's FULL of babes who came in SUPER nervous, telling you how AWESOME of a time they had and how their nerves melted away. There's no need to be nervous! We're gonna have a badass day.
